Description

"Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe." -Abraham Lincoln

A dull blade can be more frustrating, more time consuming, and in many cases, more dangerous. If you have a dull chisel, knife, pair of scissors, or garden tool, join us as we talk through the basics of tool sharpening in simple, yet effective ways using sandpaper, metal files, and sharpening stones.

**Serrated or saw-toothed blades will be mentioned, but won't be covered in this class.

Topics covered:
* anatomy of a blade
* common reasons for dull edges and how to correct them
* stages and methods of sharpening
* various sharpening tools and their pros/cons; we'll show a method that will cost you less than $5

This is a great class for beginners and those looking for a refresher. Our presentation begins promptly at 6:00, followed by Q&A.

Registration will close at 6:00pm the day before the seminar.
Cost: $15
