Online Home Electrical Part 2: Installing Switches & Outlets - $15

07/15/2020 06:00 PM - 07:00 PM PT

Description

How does electricity travel from my panel to my lights? How about to my wall outlets? How can I be sure my fixtures and outlets are grounded, and wired correctly?

Join us for Part 2 of a two-part Online Home Electrical series, where we'll continue where we left off in our "Wire Fishing" class and expand into safely installing light switches and outlets. This class is also perfectly suitable to act as a stand-alone for those interested in learning about wiring up their own switches and outlets.

This is a live, virtual seminar where we'll demonstrate how to safely wire up outlets with confidence, and how to ensure that our switches work every time. In this class we'll go cover:

  • Basic skills needed to do simple repairs and replacements
  • Basic information to help you understand you home's electrical system
  • "Hot or Not?" Testing with non-contact voltage testers
  • Introductory circuit theory: how electrons complete a path (circuit) to flow.
  • Common household circuitry
  • Anatomy of Outlets and Switches
  • Making connections ("J-hooks" & stab-ins)
  • and plenty more!

Seminar begins promptly at 6:00, followed by Q&A.

Registration will close at 5:00pm the day before the seminar.
Cost: $15
